Based on the results, do students who sleep and exercise more have better academic performance?
Hypothesis
We think hat students who sleep more and get more exercise will have overall better academic performance because the students’ overall health will be much better, allowing them to function their best at school.
Method and Procedure
In order to answer our research question, we first created a standard to measure academic performance. In our research, the measure of academic performance was the students’ GPA. We then created visual representations comparing the amount of hours the student sleeps and their GPA. In addition, we created a visual representation comparing the amount of hours a student exercises and their overall GPA.
From the first visual representation, we found that the highest GPAs (Above 4.0) came from students who only slept approximately 5 hours. It is also important to note that the lowest GPAs (2.0 and below) came from students who slept approximately 6 hours. The second highest GPAs (3.5-4.0) came from students who slept approximately 6 hours. At first glance, this seems to imply that the number of hours a student sleeps may not directly affect GPA.
From the second visual representation, we found that the highest GPAs (Above 4.0) come from students that exercise approximately 3-4 hours. It also seems that the majority of lower-end GPAs (Below 2.0) come from students who don’t work out at all (0 hours of exercise). This implies that moderate levels of exercise might

Based on the results from the Chi-Squared, there is not a correlation between the variables. This is because the connection is not .94
